Beauty

It has been a very productive Sunday! Spent the day with my beautiful friend Jo, had some lunch, did a bit of shopping and brought some new makeup brushes.

These are the EcoTools "Fresh and Flawless" five piece complexion set.
In the set you get a flat concealer brush, buffing concealer brush, precision foundation brush, complexion blending brush and a full powder brush. All for just £11.99 in Boots, bargain!
The brushes are Eco-friendly and made by cruelty-free bristles and bamboo handles which is great. In the pack you also get a guide on what the brushes do and what products to use with them. I think this is really useful and great for beginners, because if you're anything like me, it can be quite daunting when you have a million brushes to choose from and no idea how to use them?!  :)

So of course I wanted to try them out, so the lovely Jo volunteered to let me do her makeup and here are the results (Picture has no enhancement or filter, straight from the iPhone). Now i'm certainly no makeup expert, so I think these brushes are perfect if you want a basic set for getting to grips with blending and contouring. The brushes are so soft, don't shed on your skin and leave you with a flawless finish. They also don't absorb your makeup, which in my experience can leave you with more makeup on your brush than on your face.

I wanted to create a versatile look that you could wear day and night. The products I used on Jo were mostly by Clarins
For the face I used Clarins Everlasting Foundation in nude, Clarins Instant Light Brush-on Perfecter in shade medium beige and then set with Clarins Skin Ellusion Minerals & Plant extract in nude. I applied Mosaic shimmering glow powder to the cheeks, to give a natural glow.
For the eyes I used Clarins Instant Light Perfecting base, Clarins Eye Mineral in shade taupe and for the eye crease and eyebrows I used, Clarins Eye Mineral in shade dark chocolate. Lashes were coated with Collection Super-size Fat Lash Mascara and the liquid eyeliner is the Clarins 3 Dot Liner both in black.
To finish off the look I applied Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfecter in apricot shimmer.

I think this is a great look if you're at work/uni and you have no time to head home before a night out/date/dinner with friends. You can easily dress up the look for the evening with a deep red lippy and off you go!
